What's Inside the Blog
I know you probably read this title and thought something like, “well, of course, the freelance writing company wants me to outsource my blogs–that’s how they make their money.”
And, yeah, that observation is totally fair.
Because, on the one hand, you’re not wrong. We do make a good chunk of our money by offering blog writing services to our customers. But on the other hand, that fact has very little to do with why I’m writing this blog in the first place.
I wrote this up for three very specific reasons. And all of these specific reasons likely resonate super hard with business owners, managers, or content marketing strategists like you:
- Time
- Money
- Sanity
If you’re at all familiar with how digital marketing works, you know that content marketing strategy is a big piece of the puzzle. And continuing with that thought, you know that blogging is a huge portion of any good content marketing strategy.
Here’s the problem–very few business owners (or strategists running a company’s content marketing plan) have the ability to capitalize on blogging the way they should.
Outsourcing your blogging efforts to a freelance writer who does that for a living has the potential to be a total game changer for your brand.
But how, exactly?
Your Brand Needs a Blog: Here's Why
Before we get into the nitty-gritty details of how outsourcing blogs can save your brand, let’s tackle the biggest question of them all–why should my brand focus on blogging?
This is a can of worms I’m always happy to open (again and again), but for brevity, I won’t do my whole spiel here and now.
The big benefits of blogging are undeniable, so much so that I wrote an entire blog about it (think of it as blog-ception).
Cutting to the chase, regular blogging can help your brand:
- Drive web traffic
- Create direct communication with your audience
- Establish your brand as an authority
- Provide real value to your audience
- Offer insight into your brand
Are these the only benefits of blogging? No way. Consistently blogging high-quality content can help your brand perform better on search engine result pages (SERPs), target your audience more effectively, enhance your brand’s voice, and provide future-proof content that endlessly benefits your content marketing strategy.
All that to say, if you’re not blogging–you should definitely start.
3 Reasons You Should Outsource Your Small Business Blog
Better SEO, more opportunities to connect with your audience, a better customer conversion rate–all of those blogging benefits sound great, right?
Of course, they do.
Unfortunately, creating a backlog of effective content isn’t as simple as snapping your fingers (or inserting prompts into an AI program, by the way). Consistent blogging takes work, time, effort, energy, money, and sanity.
And if you’re running a business, managing a whole content marketing strategy, and doing 1,000 other things that go into keeping your company on the map, it’s likely that a task like blogging is going to continually get pushed to the back burner.
The good news? Blogging doesn’t have to be an afterthought anymore. In fact, you can ramp up your blogging efforts seamlessly, allowing you to see those big benefits faster than ever.
What’s the magical way to make this blogging thing happen: outsourcing.
How exactly can outsourcing your blogging efforts to a freelance writer make a difference in your strategy? Oh, let me count the ways.
You'll Get Your Precious Time Back
I won’t beat around the bush– blogging the right way takes time. Writing up a high-quality, valuable, and compelling 1,000-word blog post that people actually want to read is a huge energy expenditure.
And if you’re spending all that time researching, writing, editing, and formatting your blogs (even if you’re just writing one or two a month), that’s a big chunk of hours you could have spent doing something else.
Maybe I’m overstepping here, but I’m willing to bet that your main job isn’t blogging for your company. So, if writing a high-quality blog takes you somewhere between 5-10 hours a week (and trust me, it can take a lot more), that’s 5-10 hours you didn’t spend tackling all the other things on your to-do list.
Because blogging takes a ton of time but also seems less essential than other things (like customer service calls, fixing products, managing your books, etc.), it often gets pushed to the side.
When you choose to outsource your blogging to a freelance writer, you’re making a choice to get all that time back without sacrificing your content marketing strategy.
You'll Save Money While Making Money
It’s easy to think of hiring a copywriter as an expense. And, yes, technically, it is an expense. But hiring the right writer means pumping out high-quality, valuable content that can help you access all those benefits we talked about at the beginning of this blog.
And some of those benefits include more customers, higher web traffic, and better conversion rates. In other words, more money.
To me, that means blogging isn’t just an expense; it’s an investment.
But that’s not just my opinion, either. Statistically, blogging has a pretty high return on investment (ROI).
And the best part about blogging ROI? There’s no end to its value. Consistent blogging offers future-proof benefits. And that’s because blogging, when done right, is evergreen. That means you’re sharing things that retain relevance, will continually drive traffic to your site and aren’t time sensitive.
You Won't Sacrifice Your Sanity
Saving time and making money are pretty convincing reasons to outsource your blogs. But honestly, it’s the third reason that’s most compelling to me–you won’t sacrifice your sanity.
Odds are, you didn’t start your business or sign up for a role at your company to sit behind a computer all day to write blogs. (But if you did, that’s awesome–keep up the good work). So, why are you trying to make this part of your gig?
Look, blogging is important. And, yes, it needs to be a critical part of your marketing strategy. But where is it written that you–someone who might not be interested in writing blogs or might not enjoy writing blogs–has to be the one who tackles this task?
Spoiler alert: It’s not.
Stop driving yourself crazy and forcing this into your routine. Stop making yourself feel bad for not blogging enough. Stop banging your head against your laptop trying to make this blogging thing happen.
Your sanity, your mental health, and your general wellness matter, and if blogging is a pain point for you, it simply doesn’t need to be part of your life.
Outsourcing this gig to someone who enjoys doing it (and is an expert at it) is going to save you more than just time and money; it’s going to give you your sanity back.
